A Look Inside Our First-Ever Workshop Retreat
PARK HILL EDUCATION
This week was one for the books. Our Park Hill Education team put together a wonderful two-day event for local floral designers and photographers focused on portfolio building.
The creations? to die for.
About the Venue
The Stone Cottage, a spacious 4,000-square-foot home from the 1800s, was originally designed by New York architect Detlef Lienau.
It was built to accommodate Matthew Wilks Esq.'s large family during the extensive renovations of the manor. Later, it became the home of the farm manager, Mr. Weatherall, and eventually housed Mr. Wilks' two granddaughters.
In those days, women of means often chose not to marry, preserving their independence and keeping the property within the family. They dedicated their time to the estate's upkeep and local charity work.
Our Partners
But before we jump into it. We want to offer our sincerest gratitude to all parties who came out to support us on our first-ever workshop retreat - including our event sponsors & educators.
Here are the parties that brought these scenes to life:
Leading floral design was our co-founder Hilary Sisolak & the face behind By Wildwood Floral & Event Design. With guest instructor Alex from Forever Wildfield.
Our photography teams were led by our co-founder Tiffany Lynn Photography & Torry from Lovely Sparrow Photography.
Arrival cookies were designed and provided by our new neighbours JTM Cakes.
Our beautiful wedding cake was designed and baked by The Caketender.
Our glam team was made up of Stella from Starry Faces & Allysa Helm Beauty.
The Modern Bride sponsored gowns.
Our models were Isabel Di Nardo & Toka Murphy, Tiffany Tucic & Massimo Picillo, and Kaitlyn Elliot.
Now that you’re familiar with the creatives behind these scenes, let’s dive in.
Large-scale bridal installations
Our first installation set the scene for our workshop retreat. Led by Forever Wildfield, our floral team had the opportunity to dive deeper into large-scale mechanics, best practices and new techniques.
While the floral team built each scene, our photography team focused on developing a beautiful “getting ready” library for their portfolio.
Here are some of our favourite shots:
2025 Tablescapes with By Wildwood Floral & Event Design
Our second scene of the day was focused on all the 2025 trends floral designers need to have in their portfolios. The team’s focus was to develop an installation featuring a caterpillar table escape. A trend that has been taking the wedding industry by storm.
Featuring a country-side backdrop, this scene was perfect for those looking to expand their offerings for the 2025 wedding season.
This scene featured a collection of Dahlias cafe au lait, Zinnias - various varieties, Cafe roses, Barrista Roses, Moab Roses, Golden mustard roses, Cosmos white, Pink stock, Golden ranunculus, Chamomile, Sahara spray rose, Jasmine vine, Styling figs and grapes, Preserved maple leaves and Fresh red maple leaves.
To bring this scene to life, we featured an engaged couple, Tiffany Tucic and Massimo Picillo, as our models.
The Morning of - the Installation
For our second day, the By Wildwood team began a “morning of” installation featuring a wooden fireplace mantel. This installation featured a colourful collection of flowers and greenery making it the perfect addition to this room dating back to the 1700’s.
the photography team finalized their second day shooting this scene as well as other magnificent shots taken in the interior of the Stone Cottage. Here are a few worth checking out:
