Casa has unveiled a new installation: Silk & Satin. This exquisite collection of textiles has been carefully curated and designed by our co-founders, Hilary Sisolak and Tiffany Lynn, to provide an elevated experience within the studio.
Available from September 5th to 22nd, Silk & Satin features luxurious fabrics and elegant draping, creating a stunning backdrop that enhances the artistry of the space. Behind the Scenes
The behind-the-scenes process of creating Silk & Satin was a labour of love that spanned an entire day. It all began with co-founders Tiff and Hilary staring at the wall for an hour, contemplating where to start.
Despite the initial uncertainty, they soon found their rhythm as they began to play with the textiles. Piece by piece, their vision gradually came to life, transforming the space into a breathtaking display of elegance and sophistication. This collaborative journey not only showcased their creativity but also highlighted the magic that unfolds when ideas are nurtured and explored.
Tips for Getting the Best Shot
To help you capture the best shots at our Silk & Satin installation, here are some essential tips:
Interact with the installation. The flowiness of the textiles allows for really fun shots. We've left a fan on-site to help create movement in the background. Additionally, feel free to use the pins on the front drape to move and redesign the set as needed.
Create different illusions with subject placement. The design of the installation allows for placement of the subject both at the front and within the drapes, resulting in beautiful yet distinctly different images. The location of the model within the moving drape also impacts both the lighting and the poses you can create.
Have a clear inspiration before coming to the space. With so many creative possibilities, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. Planning is key to achieving your vision!
